Create a Drama with Squall Studio

Squall Studio turns a story idea, or a script you already have, into a series of short video episodes. This guide follows the web app screen by screen, from your first prompt to a finished episode you can download.

How it works

  1. Start a project: Describe your story or paste a script, and Squall Studio writes the series.
  2. Episodes: Read the series summary and open an episode in the editor.
  3. Edit scenes: Adjust each scene's timing, setting, shots and dialogue.
  4. Characters & locations: Check who and where each scene shows, and change their images.
  5. Generate video: Make one video clip for each scene.
  6. The Assistant: Have the Assistant review your clips, find what's wrong and modify them.
  7. Finish and download: Join the clips into the episode, add music and download it.

Generating things uses credits. Credits and billing explains how that works.

What you need

  • A Squall Studio account. Sign up with Google, or with an email address and a password.
  • Credits. Writing the script and generating images, video clips and music use credits. Each of these shows an estimated cost before you start. The Assistant's replies use credits too, once its free credits run out.

Formats and limits

  • Screen ratio: 9:16 vertical, 16:9 landscape or 1:1 square.
  • Episodes per project: 1 to 3, or Auto to let the story decide.
  • Episode length: a target of 15 seconds to 5 minutes, or Auto, up to about 5 minutes.
  • Scenes: each scene becomes one video clip of 4 to 30 seconds.

Try the demo first

Ashes of Identity, a demo project made in Squall Studio, shows every step of this guide with real results.

  • Without an account: on the home page, scroll to From One Idea to a Complete Video and choose Explore the full demo project.
  • Signed in: the demo appears under My Projects. Open it with Open Demo Project and Squall Studio sets up your own copy to experiment with.
